How to Press your DTF prints

This is a guide and you need to understand that every heat press is slightly different.

 Cotton Shirts

1. Set heat press between 145 degs C.

2. First press the shirt for 5 seconds to remove moisture.

3. Place the film on the shirt in the position you want it.

4. Press the film with Medium to heavy pressure for 8 seconds at 145 degs C.

5. This film is instant hot peel. Once the press opens peel the film off (but keep it low to the shirt) in a fast smooth motion.

6. Then re press the shirt with baking paper or a telfon sheet over the image for 8 seconds with medium pressure.

Then you're done.

Cotton Hoodies

1. Set heat press between 155 degs C.

2. First press the shirt for 5 seconds to remove moisture.

3. Place the film on the shirt in the position you want it.

4. Press the film with Medium to heavy pressure for 8 seconds at 155 degs C.

5. This film is instant hot peel. Once the press opens peel the film off (but keep it low to the shirt) in a fast smooth motion.

6. Then re press the shirt with baking paper or a telfon sheet over the image for 8 seconds with medium pressure.

Then you're done.

1. Set heat press to 130 degs C.

2. First press the shirt for 2 seconds.

3. Place the film on the shirt in the position you want it.

5. This film is instant hot peel. Once the press opens peel the film off (but keep it low to the shirt) in a fast smooth motion.

6. Then re press the shirt with baking paper or a telfon sheet over the image for 5 seconds with medium pressure.

Then you're done.

Stubby Holders

1. Set heat press to 120 degs C.

2. First press the Stubby holder for 4 seconds.

3. Place the Print on the stubby holder in the position you want it.

4. Press the print with Medium pressure for 8 seconds at 120 degs C.

5. This film is instant hot peel. So as soon as the press opens peel the film off in a fast smooth motion.

6. Then re press the Stubby holder with baking paper or a telfon sheet over the print for 8 seconds.

Then you're done.

Washing Instructions

Wash Inside Out, No More Than 40°C

DO NOT TUMBLE DRY

Do Not Iron Directly onto The Print

Its recommended

- Waiting 24 hours after pressing, before washing.

- Use of fabric softeners or chemicals can damage the print and can dull the colours.

- For best results when air-drying your garments, leave them inside out from the washing machine until dry this avoids any UV damage if drying In direct sunlight.

DTF EXPLAINED

We run the only 9 Colour 6 head DTF printer in Australia!

DTF printing uses inkjet printers to print aqueous pigmented inks onto a PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film. PET film is used because of its dimensional stability when heated and its non-toxic nature.
Images are printed in a mirrored fashion such that the image is “face down” onto the PET film.
The last color to be printed is typically a white which is slow drying, leaving it tacky for the acceptance of a powdered adhesive (a hot melt powder made of polyurethane resin).
Once the powder has been applied by a process of cascading the powder over the tacky print and shaking/tapping the film to remove any unbonded powder,
the film then passes through a heat tunnel that melts the adhesive to bond it with the ink.

UV DTF

Application

  • Peel the film from the back and carefully lift the sticker from the backing sheet. Keep the design flat to avoid curling.
  • Now, place the UV DTF sticker on the clean, prepared surface.
  • Use a squeegee or scraper to apply firm, even pressure across the entire design.
  • Now, slowly pull the sticker back at a low angle, making sure all parts of the design remain on the surface. If any section lifts, press it down again.

Tips To Apply UV DTF Stickers

  • Work on a flat surface to avoid misalignment.
  • Apply even pressure, especially on edges and fine details.
  • For small or detailed logos, go extra slow when peeling the top film.
  • Use these stickers for branding drinkware, labeling jars, customizing packaging, or personalizing gifts.

Full-Coverage UV DTF Wraps

For projects that require a bold, all-over look, full-coverage UV DTF wraps are the way to go. Unlike stickers or small decals, these wraps are designed to cover the entire surface of an item. These are great for tumblers, mugs, plaques, and other larger products. Here is how to apply UV DTF Wraps:

  • Before peeling anything, hold the wrap against your item to check the fit and align the edges carefully.
  • Peel the backing and start applying at the middle of your surface. Slowly work outward to each edge, pressing as you go.
  • Apply firm, even pressure to ensure the wrap bonds evenly to the surface.

Aftercare Instructions

  • Avoid washing or scrubbing the item for at least 24 hours after application.
  • Don’t expose it to sharp edges or constant abrasion.
  • Hand-wash drinkware instead of running it through the dishwasher for best results.

Important to be aware UV DTF stickers do not come off easily so it is important to not place them on car paint work and surfaces that can be damaged. Once they are on they will not come off
